In early 2003, shortly after Dorothy's visit to Vermont, we got right to work on our project to publish the tree messages. We sent out a "Call to Vermont Artists" to submit artwork that had been inspired by trees. The response was overwhelming, both in terms of the number of artists and the range of work submitted. Our dream was to weave these wonderful images into the pages of Call of the Trees. Unfortunately, for a variety of practical considerations, we had to let go of this aspect of our vision in order to get the book published. However, once the book was in print and a website was developed, we realized that all was not lost.

Below are the 15 artists whose work spoke to us. Click on the image to see a fuller view. If you click on the artist's name, you can learn more about the artist and read their comments about their work. We've done our best, in spite of the technical limitations, to show and share these beautiful works of human hearts that have been touched by the trees.
